Evening Prayer: Comfort in Grief

Loss weighs heavy at night. Yet God draws near to the brokenhearted.

🕊️ Prayer of the Day

Lord, my heart aches with absence.

You know the tears I hide in silence.

Hold me in the comfort of Your love.

Remind me that grief is not forever, and death is not the end.

Let me rest tonight in Your promise of eternal life. Amen.

💡 Why This Prayer Matters

God does not dismiss our grief — He meets us in it.

🪞 Thoughts Before Sleep

Every tear is noticed by the One who promises joy in the morning.

📖 Bible Story

When Lazarus died, Mary and Martha mourned deeply, and many came to comfort them. Jesus arrived and saw their sorrow. Though He knew He would raise Lazarus, He was moved with compassion and wept with them. Then He stood before the tomb, prayed, and cried out, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came forth, alive, still wrapped in grave clothes. In that moment, Jesus revealed both His tender heart and His resurrection power. (John 11:17–44, ESV).
