Evening Prayer: Eyes Opened

Sometimes we end the day discouraged, blind to God’s work. On the Emmaus road, Jesus walked with two disciples — though they didn’t recognize Him.

🕊️ Prayer of the Day

Lord, stay with me, for it is evening.

So often I walk with downcast eyes, missing Your presence.

Open my eyes to see You in Scripture, in prayer, in daily life.

Let my heart burn with Your Word tonight.

Transform my sadness into joy, my confusion into clarity.

Stay at my table, Lord, and break the bread of life with me.

May I rest tonight with opened eyes and a hopeful heart. Amen.

💡 Why This Prayer Matters

Jesus often walks with us unnoticed. Hope rises when our eyes are opened to recognize Him in His Word and presence.

🪞 Thoughts Before Sleep

You may not see Him, but He is already walking beside you.

📖 Bible Story

Two disciples walked to Emmaus, discussing Jesus’ death. The risen Christ joined them, but they did not recognize Him. As He explained Scripture, their hearts burned. At supper, He broke bread, and their eyes were opened — they knew Him. Then He vanished, and they said, “Did not our hearts burn within us?” (Luke 24:13–35, ESV).
