Evenings are when our hearts finally slow down — but sometimes storms from the day still echo inside. Tonight’s story reminds us that God’s calm is stronger than any wind.
🕊️ Prayer of the Day
Lord Jesus, I bring before You the storms of this day.
The noise of worry, the waves of fear, the winds of doubt.
You are the One who speaks “Peace, be still” to creation itself.
Calm my restless heart tonight, and silence the voices that trouble me.
Teach me to trust Your presence more than the power of the storm.
Cover my home with Your peace and give me rest in Your love.
May I wake tomorrow with courage, because You are Lord over all. Amen.
💡 Why This Prayer Matters
Life rarely gives us calm seas. But faith is not about avoiding storms — it’s about knowing Who is in the boat with us. This story teaches us that fear shrinks when trust grows, and rest is possible even when waves rise high.
🪞 Thoughts Before Sleep
The disciples feared the storm more than they trusted the Savior — until they saw His authority. Tonight, ask yourself: Do I measure my problems by their size, or by His power?
📖 Bible Story
One evening, Jesus and His disciples crossed the Sea of Galilee. A sudden storm broke out, waves filling the boat. Jesus, asleep in the stern, was awakened by His terrified disciples: “Teacher, don’t You care that we are perishing?” He stood, rebuked the wind, and commanded the sea, “Peace! Be still!” Immediately the storm ceased, and a great calm came over the waters. He then asked them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” Filled with awe, they said to one another, “Who then is this, that even wind and sea obey Him?” (Mark 4:35–41, ESV).
