Dear Friend,

You are generous with love โ€” quick to give it, slow to receive it. You find it easier to serve than to be served, easier to encourage than to be encouraged. God is in the gentle work of teaching you to open your hands and receive.

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Prayer of the Day

Heavenly Father,

I am better at giving than receiving. It's easier for me to care for others than to accept care. To encourage than to be encouraged. And while I have told myself this is just how I'm wired, I suspect there is something deeper โ€” a belief that I am more worthy of giving than receiving.

Teach me to receive. To let love in. To allow others to care for me without deflecting or minimizing. And teach me to receive from You โ€” Your love, Your grace, Your provision โ€” with open hands rather than suspicious distance. I want to be as free to receive as I am to give. In Jesus' name, Amen.

๐Ÿ’ก Why This Prayer Matters

When we are unable to receive love, we create distance in our relationships โ€” including with God. Learning to receive is an act of humility and trust. It communicates to the giver that their offering has worth.

๐Ÿชž Thoughts Before Sleep

How do you typically respond when someone tries to care for you or serve you? Do you accept it easily or deflect it? What might be behind that response?
