Dear Friend,
You've been hurt before โ by someone you trusted, in a relationship you invested in deeply. And now the idea of opening up again feels terrifying. Tonight's prayer is for the heart that wants to love but is afraid of the cost.
๐๏ธ Prayer of the Day
Heavenly Father,
I am afraid of being hurt again. The last time I opened my heart fully, I got hurt in ways I am still healing from. And now I hold people at a careful distance โ not because I don't want connection, but because I'm not sure I can survive another wound like that.
Heal the fear under my guardedness. Help me discern between wisdom and self-protection, between healthy boundaries and walls that keep love out entirely. Give me the courage to stay open โ not recklessly, but hopefully. Restore my ability to trust without guaranteeing that I'll never be hurt. In Jesus' name, Amen.
๐ก Why This Prayer Matters
The risk of being hurt is the cost of loving. We cannot fully love while remaining fully protected. Healing doesn't mean guaranteeing immunity from pain โ it means developing enough trust in God to love again even knowing the risk.
๐ช Thoughts Before Sleep
Where are you protecting yourself from connection right now? Is that protection wisdom, or a wall that's costing you relationships you actually want?

"Perfect love drives out fear." โ 1 John 4:18
