Evening Prayer: When You Feel Far From Who You Used to Be

Becoming someone new 🌿✨

Sometimes growth feels strange because you no longer recognize the person you once were.

🕊️ Prayer of the Day

Lord, sometimes I miss older versions of myself.
The person who laughed differently, dreamed differently, or saw life with different eyes.
So much has changed.
And sometimes I wonder who I am becoming.
Please help me honor who I was without believing I must return there.
Thank You for every version of me that survived what it needed to survive.
Take what was beautiful from my past and carry it forward with me.
Release what no longer belongs in this new season.
Help me welcome the person You are gently shaping me into.
Tonight, let change feel less like losing myself and more like becoming.
Amen.

💡 Why This Prayer Matters

Personal growth often involves grieving older versions of ourselves. Making peace with change allows us to honor the past without becoming trapped inside it.

🪞 Thoughts Before Sleep

I can honor who I was.
I can welcome who I am becoming.
God is with me through every version of my story.

📖 Bible Story

Jacob’s life was filled with transformation, struggle, and change.
God eventually gave him a new name, symbolizing that his past mattered but did not have to define his future.
