Evening Prayer: When You’re Learning to Trust Again

Trust returns slowly 🌱🤍

A heart that has been hurt may need time before it feels safe enough to trust again.

🕊️ Prayer of the Day

Lord, part of me wants to trust again, but another part is still afraid.
You know what happened.
You know the promises that were broken and the disappointment I carried afterward.
Please do not rush my heart.
Heal the places where trust was damaged.
Give me wisdom to recognize what is safe and courage to open my heart when the time is right.
Protect me from becoming so guarded that love can no longer reach me.
Teach me that healing does not require forgetting what I learned.
Little by little, restore my confidence in goodness.
And above everything else, help me trust Your faithful heart when human hearts have disappointed me.
Amen.

💡 Why This Prayer Matters

Trust usually returns through consistency, safety, and time. Healing allows us to remain wise without allowing past hurt to permanently close our hearts.

🪞 Thoughts Before Sleep

I do not have to rush trust.
God is healing my heart gently.
I can open again when I am ready.

📖 Bible Story

Thomas struggled to believe after experiencing deep disappointment and loss.
Jesus did not shame his hesitation. He met Thomas patiently and gave him the reassurance he needed.
