God Is Teaching You How to Exhale
For a long time, your body lived as if something bad was about to happen.
Even in good moments, you stayed alert.
Ready.
Prepared.
But constant readiness is not peace.
And God is not asking you to stay on guard forever.
He is teaching you how to exhale.
🕊️ Prayer of the Day
Lord,
I bring You the tension that became normal to me.
The tightness in my chest.
The constant scanning for danger.
The habit of bracing instead of resting.
I didn’t choose this on purpose —
it grew out of what I had to survive.
But I don’t want to live from survival anymore.
Teach my body that it is allowed to soften.
That nothing bad will happen if I relax for a moment.
That Your presence does not require vigilance — only trust.
Help me notice when I am holding my breath emotionally.
Gently remind me to release it.
Let Your peace move through me slowly,
rewriting old patterns of tension with safety and calm.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
