Evening Prayer: When You Need Courage

Courage isn’t fearlessness. It’s movement despite the shaking knees, the cracking voice, the fluttering pulse.

Lord,

make my heart brave enough for the battles
I haven’t yet learned to name.

Not loud, aggressive courage —
quiet, sturdy, persistent courage.

Courage that kneels first,
then rises steady.

Courage that listens, then obeys.
Courage that loves, even when hurt.
Build it in me tonight, brick by invisible brick. Amen.

The boldest hearts are built in silent prayer rooms, not arenas.

I can feel nervous and still be chosen for big assignments.

Esther shook, prayed, and then said,
“If I perish, I perish.”
That wasn’t drama — that was devotion (Esther 4:16).
